The wool was braided, combed and spun into thread.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-hveid=\"CAQQAQ\" data-complete=\"true\" data-sae=\"\"><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-complete=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">Paint:<\/strong>\u00a0The yarn was dyed in large cauldrons in bright colours (red, yellow, green) using in the past vegetable and later synthetic dyes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-hveid=\"CAQQAg\" data-complete=\"true\" data-sae=\"\"><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-complete=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">Weaving in Argalion:<\/strong>\u00a0The weaver was passing the splinter to the\u00a0<span data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-complete=\"true\"><a class=\"H23r4e\" href=\"https:\/\/karsanikokentima.gr\/project\/i-yfantiki-techni-sti-leykada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-hveid=\"CAQQAw\">loom<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and created geometric designs, stripes or \u00abcaramels\u00bb (square patterns), hence their popular name.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-hveid=\"CAQQBA\" data-complete=\"true\" data-sae=\"\"><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-complete=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">Finish (Drystella):<\/strong>\u00a0Many of these blankets were taken to the\u00a0<span data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-complete=\"true\"><a class=\"H23r4e\" href=\"https:\/\/ikee.lib.auth.gr\/record\/296903\/files\/GRI-2018-21126.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-hveid=\"CAQQBQ\">dribble<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(water-grinding), where the force of the water \u00abinflated\u00bb the wool, making the weaving denser and warmer.<\/span><span class=\"uJ19be notranslate\" data-wiz-uids=\"Ybr0Fe_14,Ybr0Fe_15\" data-complete=\"true\"><span class=\"vKEkVd\" data-animation-atomic=\"\" data-wiz-attrbind=\"class=Ybr0Fe_13\/TKHnVd\" data-sae=\"\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It can be used as a blanket on the bed, or as a decorative wall or sofa throw.
